MOSIP Architect

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced MOSIP Architect to lead the architecture and technical design of a population-scale digital identity platform built on the MOSIP ecosystem.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the overall solution architecture, ensuring scalability, security, interoperability, and reliability across the identity platform and its supporting subsystems. The role requires deep expertise in digital identity platforms, distributed architectures, and secure identity ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MOSIP architecture, digital identity standards, authentication frameworks, and large-scale technology platforms supporting millions of users. Experience within government digital transformation, telecommunications, fintech, or enterprise identity solutions will be highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Own and define the MOSIP solution architecture, including ID Repository, eSignet, registration, authentication, Inji, and verifiable credential components.
• Design integration patterns between MOSIP and surrounding digital platforms, applications, and enterprise systems.
• Define scalable, secure, and resilient architecture for population-scale identity platforms.
• Establish architecture standards, principles, and technical governance frameworks.
• Guide engineering, integration, and implementation teams through architecture reviews and technical decisions.
• Define and validate non-functional requirements including performance, availability, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Review solution designs, APIs, infrastructure architecture, and deployment approaches.
• Ensure compliance with digital identity security standards, privacy requirements, and data protection practices.
• Collaborate with technical teams, programme leadership, vendors, and implementation partners.
• Support continuous improvement of the identity platform architecture and technology roadmap.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in MOSIP platform architecture and implementation.
• Strong understanding of digital identity ecosystems and authentication technologies.
• Experience with identity standards including:
• OpenID Connect (OIDC)
• eSignet
• Verifiable Credentials (W3C VC)
• OpenID for Verifiable Credentials (OID4VCI / OID4VP)
• Strong experience designing microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong knowledge of security-by-design, privacy engineering, and data protection principles.
• Experience designing highly available platforms at large scale.

Nice-to-Have / Advantage

• Experience delivering population-scale digital identity platforms.
• Previous involvement in MOSIP implementations or contributions to the MOSIP ecosystem.
• Experience with OpenG2P or government digital public infrastructure initiatives.
• Knowledge of biometric identity systems, authentication platforms, and identity verification technologies.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, DevOps teams, and large-scale infrastructure environments.
• Experience supporting multi-country or distributed technology delivery programmes.
