Application Developer

Our stack is built on Next.js (for blazing-fast SEO-optimized web experiences) and Laravel (for secure, scalable API architecture).

We’re now looking for a Full Stack Developer who can help us innovate, scale, and deliver world-class performance across both ends of the stack.

💡 Role Overview

As a Full Stack Developer at FoodHutz, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining production-grade features while users are actively using the platform.

You’ll ensure high-quality code, scalability, and strong SEO performance across all pages.

Your focus will be on delivering:

• Highly optimized SEO and Core Web Vitals
• Fast, resilient APIs
• Smooth and responsive UI for both web and mobile web

🧠 Key ResponsibilitiesFrontend (Next.js)

• Build and optimize high-performance pages in Next.js (SSG, ISR, SSR).
• Implement dynamic routing, metadata optimization, and structured data (Schema.org).
• Ensure perfect Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, FID) and accessibility standards.
• Create reusable React components with TypeScript and TailwindCSS.
• Integrate with Laravel APIs securely using REST or GraphQL.
• Optimize build size, caching, and image delivery with Next.js features (Image Optimization, Edge Functions).

Backend (Laravel)

• Design and maintain scalable APIs for ordering, reservations, payments, and user profiles.
• Ensure multi-tenancy, rate-limiting, and role-based access for restaurants, couriers, and customers.
• Integrate payment gateways (Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
• Handle webhooks and asynchronous queues for notifications, dispatching, and analytics.
• Write efficient Eloquent queries and optimize for performance and caching (Redis).
• Maintain Swagger/Postman API documentation and implement secure versioning.

SEO & Performance

• Build SEO-friendly page structures with optimized meta tags, canonical URLs, and OpenGraph/Twitter cards.
• Implement server-side rendering (SSR) and incremental static regeneration for better indexing.
• Configure sitemaps, robots.txt, and hreflang for multi-region visibility (UK/Nigeria).
• Optimize page speed and minimize Time to First Byte (TTFB) and First Contentful Paint (FCP).
• Use analytics tools (Google Search Console, Lighthouse, Ahrefs, GTmetrix) to monitor SEO health.
• Work with the marketing team to deploy A/B testing and track conversion performance.

🧩 Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Stack:

• Frontend: Next.js (SSR, SSG, ISR), TypeScript, TailwindCSS
• Backend: Laravel (8+ or 10+), PHP 8+, REST APIs, Eloquent ORM
• Database: MySQL or PostgreSQL, Redis
• SEO: Advanced understanding of technical SEO, structured data, schema markup, and Core Web Vitals optimization
• Testing: PHPUnit, PestPHP, Jest, Cypress
• DevOps: CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Docker, Laravel Forge or Vapor
• Version Control: Git & GitHub (PRs, Code Reviews)
• Security: OAuth2/Sanctum/CSRF protection, input sanitization, encrypted data storage

⚡ Preferred Experience

• Experience with multi-region or multi-tenant applications
• Background in food delivery, logistics, or e-commerce platforms
• Experience optimizing SEO for large-scale Next.js sites
• Understanding of payment gateway integrations and real-time order tracking (WebSockets)
• Familiarity with analytics tools and performance audits
• Experience with Laravel Octane, Redis, and Horizons
