Social Media Coordinator/Digital Editor

Job responsibilities:

Edit text for clarity, style and adherence to journalistic standards and AP style.

Collaborate with reporters to ensure comprehensive coverage of local events.

Write accurate and engaging social media posts that drive traffic and build our audience across Facebook, X, and Instagram.

Collaborate with editors and writers to identify stories with social potential and tailor content to each platform.

Plan, write, and manage delivery of our various newsletters.

Optimize content using SEO and AEO best practices.

Contribute to social media campaigns and special projects around key news events.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field.

At least two years' experience in journalism or related field.

Excellent communication abilities for effective collaboration with team members.

Knowledge of social media management and digital content strategies.

Ability to perform multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
