Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting

  • Record, classify, and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial records are complete and accurate.
  • Perform bank, cash, and account reconciliations regularly.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Budgeting & Financial Management

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor budget performance and report variances to management.
  • Prepare financial analyses to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow and recommend measures to improve financial performance.

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare and file statutory tax returns, including VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, Company Income Tax (CIT), and other regulatory obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies when required.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing accurate financial documentation.

Internal Controls & Reporting

  • Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Review financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports, schedules, and management dashboards.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions to improve operational efficiency.

Administrative & Team Support

  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents and accounting records.
  • Support payroll processing and employee expense management where applicable.
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Professional qualification or progress toward certification with Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, or Association of National Accountants of Nigeria is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Experience in industries such as FMCG, manufacturing, healthcare, construction, real estate, or professional services.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Work Conditions

  • May require occasional overtime during month-end, year-end closing, audits, or tax filing periods.
