Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Social Safeguards & ESMS Specialist to support the delivery of environmental and social consulting assignments across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will contribute to technical studies, field assessments, stakeholder engagement activities, ESG advisory assignments, environmental and social management systems, sustainability reporting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities


 

 


 

  • Support the delivery of ESIA, RAP, LRP, ESDD, ESG, and sustainability consulting assignments.
  • Participate in field assessments, social baseline studies, stakeholder consultations, community engagement programs, and monitoring activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS).
  • Support compliance reviews against IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, ESG frameworks, lender requirements, and international good practice.
  • Prepare technical reports, management plans, monitoring reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Support grievance mechanism development, stakeholder engagement planning, livelihood restoration initiatives, and community development programs.
  • Coordinate data collection, analysis, research, and documentation activities.
  • Assist in sustainability reporting, ESG disclosures, impact measurement, and performance monitoring assignments.
  • Support proposal development, business development initiatives, client engagement, and project delivery activities.
  • Contribute to technical publications, webinars, conferences, training programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Requirements


 

 


 

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Development Studies, Environmental Science, Geography, Environmental Management, Public Policy, Sustainability, Engineering, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years relevant professional experience.
  • Practical experience supporting environmental and social assessments, stakeholder engagement, ESG programs, sustainability initiatives, community development projects, or development-finance-related assignments.
  • Understanding of IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, World Bank Environmental and Social Framework, ESG frameworks, or related international standards.
  • Strong report-writing, analytical, research, project coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork and engage effectively with communities, clients, government agencies, and development partners.
  • Experience working on donor-funded, lender-financed, infrastructure, energy, extractive, industrial, transportation, or development projects is an advantage.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and professional writing skills.
  • Strong commitment to sustainability, responsible development, and social impact.
