Job Description
Almora is a growing technology company developing innovative digital solutions for businesses. As we expand our operations and prepare for future opportunities in financial technology and digital services, we are seeking a Legal & Compliance Advisor to support our legal, regulatory, and compliance needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Prepare and review customer, vendor, and partnership contracts.
- Advise on data privacy and data protection compliance.
- Develop and maintain Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, and other legal documents.
- Support employment and contractor engagements.
- Advise on corporate governance and shareholder matters.
- Assist with regulatory compliance and business registrations.
- Support dispute resolution and collections matters.
- Provide legal guidance on technology, Software as a Service (SaaS), digital platforms, and future fintech initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks.
Requirements
- LL.B and BL qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years post-call experience.
- Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law.
- Experience drafting contracts and legal documentation.
- Good understanding of regulatory compliance and data protection.
- Strong research, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide practical business-oriented advice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advising startups, technology companies, or fintech businesses.
- Familiarity with SaaS agreements and digital products.
- Knowledge of data privacy and financial services regulations.
- Previous experience working with growing businesses.
Work Arrangement
- Primarily remote.
- Occasional physical meetings in Kano when necessary.
- Flexible engagement structure.
- Long-term relationship preferred.
Compensation
Retainer-based compensation, negotiable based on experience and scope of engagement.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Kano: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
