Software Test Engineer (QA)

Responsibilities

• New Version Testing: Responsible for full functional testing, regression testing, and UI/UX verification for new features on core mobile Apps (iOS & Android) and H5 product lines, ensuring high standards are met prior to release.
• Bug Tracking & Closure: Continuously review, reproduce, and verify legacy bugs. Utilize defect management tools (e.g., Jira/Trello) to maintain clear task boards and drive the rapid resolution of system defects.
• Daily Online Patrol (Core): Conduct daily health checks on core online business workflows. Strongly focus on verifying the stability of local payment gateways (OPay, PalmPay, USSD transfers), SMS OTP delivery rates, and the real-time rendering of sports data and entertainment lobbies.
• Localization QA: Work closely with Product Managers to review product copy (accurately grasping Local English and Pidgin slang contexts), interaction logic, and visual feedback from a local perspective to ensure a perfect fit with local culture.
• AI-Driven Efficiency: Integrate AI models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) into daily testing workflows. Utilize AI to assist in generating test case matrices and extracting structured bug reproduction reports, significantly boosting remote collaboration and troubleshooting efficiency with the core tech team.

Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of software testing experience. Proficient in testing workflows and theories for mobile (iOS & Android) and H5 Web platforms.
• Device & Network Testing: Deep understanding of the performance characteristics of mainstream local Android devices (e.g., Tecno, Infinix, itel) and various iPhone generations. Rich experience in weak-network testing and performance diagnostics under local 3G/Edge and weak 4G network conditions.
• Local Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiar with the Nigerian fintech ecosystem (Mobile Money, bank transfer logic). Candidates with experience in testing high-concurrency interactive platforms, sports data products, or payment gateways will be prioritized.
• AI Practical Skills: Strong Prompt Engineering skills; able to proficiently use AI tools to enhance the quality of testing documentation.
• Efficient Collaboration: Excellent English reading, writing, and communication skills. Capable of translating complex business anomalies into precise technical reproduction steps, adapting to agile collaboration with R&D teams across different regions.
• Self-Driven: Refuse to be a "mechanical executor." Proactively identify hidden risks affecting multi-platform local user experiences and propose constructive optimization solutions.
