Assistant Accountant

Role Description The Assistant Accountant role at Auldon Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Lagos. The role involves supporting daily accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, posting entries to ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable. The Assistant Accountant will help prepare bank reconciliations, maintain accurate financial records, and support month-end and year-end closing activities. The role also includes preparing basic financial reports, supporting budget monitoring, assisting with inventory and cost tracking, and collaborating with other departments to ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal controls and relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational accounting skills, including bookkeeping, ledger management, and understanding of basic financial statements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including data entry, spreadsheet management, and use of formulas.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in handling numerical data, and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to follow established processes, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to accounting standards and company policies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Relevant academic background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification or progress toward certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an advantage.
• Prior experience in an accounting or finance support role, preferably in retail or a similar fast-paced environment, is beneficial.
